SPT November 10

Self–Portrait Challenge this week continues the theme of “No Word November” …. a self-portrait with no description. I won’t go on and on, but I do have to tell you why this photo is meaningful to me …..

I was hired last week …. OFFICIALLY hired ….. to work as a photographer. Not in a “Hey, will you take photos on the other kids on Kellen/Kendrie/Brayden’s team” kind of way …. not not in a “Hey, would you snap some photos of our family” kind of way (Although I did actually have two of those sessions scheduled … one canceled due to crap weather, and one canceled due to crap haircut.)**
But this box shows the photos I took, ordered, and delivered of our middle school football teams, both individual and team pictures. And while my name might have been tossed in only because my brother-in-law suggested me, I still had a phone call with the coach (a total stranger) and took photos of boys I didn’t know, for parents I didn’t know. Which I had never done before.
So I count this as my first “official” gig. And, I actually made money at it, which was a nice change of pace.
**Speaking as someone who has been known to hurry and schedule a cut and color before a family photo, I COMPLETELY felt that girl’s pain.

Congrats…my bro is trying to get that gig and graduation photos also. He is hoping the person doing them retires soon and he gets the job.

Kristie, Since I feel like I know you, though I don’t, I just wanted to say “Happy Veteran’s Day” to your husband. Please thank him from the Smith family in Atlanta and for all the Americans who are safer because of unselfish men and women, like him, who served and serve our country. Julie Smith

Wish you were still here and could do the HCBOE ones instead of Avery.
