Colorado ain’t got nuttin’ on us, baby
Kellen and Kendrie, ready to attempt the first slide of the day.
Wow, Kellen got the hang of it quickly!
Or, maybe not.
Kendrie’s loving it ….
…and trots back up the hill for another turn.
I climbed up the hill to get these “about to take off” shots …..
… you’ll notice the rest of the pictures are taken from a “bottom of the hill” perspective.
Kendrie is totally loving this ….
… catches some sweet air ….
… and discovers the true meaning of gravity.
Aaaaahhh, that’s my girl!
This is what happens when three boys try to ride down at the same time.
Trying again, guys?
Yeah, it didn’t really go any better any of the other times they tried, either.
At long last, one of the whole group together. Except for Kendrie, who couldn’t quite get the hang of “caboose” position.
“Team Val”, kind enough to share sleds with “Team Escoe”, because we were just dorky enough to assume Rubbermaid bin covers would work as well as sleds. (PS. They don’t, in case you were wondering.) (PPS. There are no sleds for sale in any hardware store in the entire metro area. I know. I’ve called them all today.)

Man, growing up in Florida, we NEVER got to do this! We did, however, get to go to Disney World for school field trips once every three or four years, so I guess that’s the consolation prize. Still, this woulda been GREAT!

looks like the kids had fun! we back on christmas eve when it snowed in dallas tried trash can lids…they dont work either….ive been told cookie sheets work though…not willing to let my kids have those though

Darn about the lids! I saw them in the first picture, and thought, “Wow! That idea totally ROCKS.” I was all ready to have my kids try it out tomorrow, then completely take all the credit for the idea. I even backed up a few times to make sure I was looking at the picture right, cuz what looked like lids in picture #1 did NOT look like lids in the following. Then I got to the bottom of the post. Darn. I was really hoping Rubbermaid lids were the new way to sled!

Wow! Looks like fun! I am in Alabama, and we NEVER get that much snow. We do get to see flurries every once in a while!

It’s true! We’d pay for that snow this year! I can see the grass in some places out here. Crazy!

Cafeteria trays work great!! Learned that going to college in the N.GA mountains!! Looks like fun!

The trays are good but hard to find. Hardboard workws great. Just sit on it and roll the front over your feet. Flatlanders don’t need sleds for 1 snow in 20 years.
By the way Coloradans use inner tubes and go down tubing hills. Also have lifts to take you up.

Kristie –
Thanks so much for sharing the fun! I’ve wondered how y’all were faring in the snow and now I know – having a blast!
I agree with some of the posters above – I have never in my life seen so much snow but would absolutely adore the opportunity to play in it just once!

Is Brayden in there somewhere? I didn’t see her…

Looks like lots of fun! I wouldn’t want to live somewhere where the winter weather was like that for months, but a once a year storm is ok.

Big old cardboard boxes cut open are great–save a few!

They look like they had a great time! I’m glad I’m not the only redneck who wears my camo stuff to play in the snow
